Six High Brow Cats Advance to NCHA Classic/Challenge Finals

More than 26 percent of High Brow Cat entries, the highest of any sire, will advance to the National Cutting Horse Association’s (NCHA) Summer Spectacular Classic/Challenge Open Finals to be held Friday, July 22.

Among the six to advance to the Finals is group leader Whiskey Cat, owned by Missy Capone of Santa Ynez, Calif., and shown by Russ Westfall. The sorrel stallion, a full brother to Whiskeyinadirtyglass, scored a 441 composite to place 6th moving to the finals where he hopes to add to his lifetime earnings of $17,538.

Watch a recent Whiskey Cat performance:

Close on his heels is Kevin and Sydney Knight’s Eazee E, ridden by Tatum Rice. The sorrel mare out of Zee Dualy amassed a composite of 439.5 and with her consistent performances, looks to be a favorite to add to her lifetime earnings of $74,818.

Riders Tarin Rice and Austin Shepard will take two High Brow Cats to the finals, with Rice aboard Little Jackson Cat and Miss Callie Cat, while Shepard guides Desires Kitty Cat and Paradox Cat to the herd.

A composite score of 436.5 was required to advance to the finals.
