Kirby Named Breeding Manager for High Brow Cat

Christina HBC2Weatherford, Texas, November 16 – Christina Kirby of Weatherford, Texas, has been named breeding manager of the world’s leading performance horse sire, High Brow Cat.

“Christina brings a wealth of experience to the role of breeding manager for Colt Ventures, Inc.,” said owner Darren Blanton. “Her experience as a veterinary technician and her familiarity with the Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) process will allow Colt Ventures to provide an even greater level of service to mare owners and customers.”

Kirby is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Before joining the cutting horse industry, she was a veterinary technician at the North Carolina State Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Upon moving to Weatherford in 2010, Christina joined the newly opened Weatherford Equine Breeding Hospital as the office manager and was there through the 2014 season.

“I am excited to be able to represent Colt Ventures to the cutting horse industry, as well as in other areas where High Brow Cat has an impact,” said Kirby. “I’m looking forward to sharing the story of this outstanding sire and help people learn more about his ability to pass on an exceptional temperament and incredible athleticism to his foals.”

High Brow Cat is the sire of more than $70 million in money earners in National Cutting Horse (NCHA), National Reined Cow Horse (NRCHA) American Paint Horse (APHA) and American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) competition. The 1988 stallion is by High Brow Kitty and out of the Smart Little Lena mare, Smart Little Kitty. He has sired an unprecedented eight NCHA World Championship Open Futurity Champions.
